2015 ANNUAL REPORT

HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley

As we look back on 2015, HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley has seen overwhelming success for the care we are providing to the local community, when it matters most. Nearly two and a half years ago, we reopened our doors to a community that fought to bring back their local community hospital. Now, based on our growing success, we have seen just how much they needed world class care, right in their own backyard.

The high quality cost effective care we are providing to the local community speaks for itself. However, being recognized by the Joint Commission in the areas of orthopedics for hip and knee as well as stroke recognizes the truly excellent healthcare we are offering to the residents of the Pascack and Northern Valley communities. Our Orthopedics program continues to grow substantially because of the excellence of the physicians and staff providing those services.

We have experienced tremendous growth in 2015 with a 33 percent year over year growth in admissions. We listen to the needs of the local community, we continue to expand and offer new services to meet their healthcare needs. Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Outpatient Therapy Services are two service lines we opened based on community feedback. Both services are in high demand.

In 2015, we also began construction on our new Emergency Department. This large scale project will allow us to offer a state-of-the-art Emergency Department like no other in the Pascack Valley. The Emergency Department space will nearly triple allowing us to care for and meet the healthcare demands of community members. We anticipate our new and expanded Emergency Department to open its doors in September 2016.

In addition, we are proud to not only offer high quality healthcare but healthcare with excellent service. Our patient satisfaction is evident in the results we continuously hear from community members. We will continue to strive for top satisfaction scores and I know our growing team of outstanding healthcare providers will have a large impact on community perception.

In closing, I want to say that it has been an amazing experience joining such a motivated team this past year. I look forward to a successful 2016 being part of the Hackensack University Health Network where we will continue to expand in the local community.
